What does it cost to hire a photo booth?
Short answer: somewhere between 3,000 and 7,000 kr for an evening, depending on what is included. But the price alone tells you little — what matters is what you actually get. Here is an honest breakdown.
The price range in Sweden
Most rental companies in Sweden charge between 3,000 and 7,000 kr per event. Where you land depends less on quality and more on what is included: number of hours, whether prints are included, and whether delivery is counted in.
The cheapest options (from around 1,500 kr) are often a tablet on a stand shipped by post — you set it up yourself and pay extra for most things. The most expensive are premium concepts with staffing, 360 cameras and add-ons that climb quickly.
What often costs extra
This is where a low base price can get expensive. Always read the fine print and ask what is included before you book.
- Prints — sometimes charged per photo or per strip
- Delivery, setup and collection
- Props, backdrop and accessories
- Custom design or logo on the photo strip
- A digital gallery of the photos afterwards
- Extra hours beyond a 2–3 hour base package
Put the price in perspective
Compare it to the rest of the budget. A wedding photographer usually costs 15,000–35,000 kr, and a large share of the party budget goes to food and drink. A photo booth is one of the few items where every guest goes home with something physical in hand.
Per guest it quickly becomes reasonable: 5,000 kr across a hundred guests is 50 kr per person for entertainment all evening plus a printed keepsake each. Many describe it as the best investment of the party precisely because everyone uses it.
How Mabooth prices it
We have one price: 5,000 kr, everything included. Unlimited photos all evening, instant prints, your logo on the strip and a digital gallery afterwards. No add-ons, no surprises.
We chose a flat price precisely to avoid the fine print. You should be able to compare like with like and know exactly what the evening costs.
Expect 3,000–7,000 kr for a photo booth with unlimited prints all evening. If the price is much lower it is usually a self-service option where prints and delivery are added on top.
No, not always. Some charge per photo or per strip. Always ask whether prints are unlimited or capped. With us they are unlimited.
Prices are sometimes shown excluding VAT for companies, and some rental firms add fees per photo or for delivery. Our 5,000 kr price is flat, with no hidden add-ons.
